Our FREE Compost Giveaway Event for the Community | Fall 2025
Saturday, September 6th
9:00am-2:00pm
As always, we will have two options for getting our organic certified compost.
- Option 1: arrive with your pick-up truck or small trailer and get loaded by our front-end loader, and
- Option 2: shovel your own!
We will have two lines, one for people who get loaded with a loader (pickups and trailers) and self-serve (bring your own bucket). Just follow the instructions of the friendly volunteers in the yellow safety vests, who will direct you to the appropriate area.
IMPORTANT! This is a giveback to the local community and not meant for commercial landscape business or resale. This is a free event and meant to give back and help our community with their spring gardening needs, and as a way of thanks for contributing to keep organics out of landfills.
If coming with a pick-up or trailer, make sure to bring a tarp to cover the load when leaving our premises. It is the law, and we do not want you to have to turn around once you have waited in line for a while.
Our Kompogas SLO Compost Giveaway event has become pretty popular over the years, so wait times could be long at times. We recommend you bring a snack, a book, or something to read or enjoy while waiting.
